I thought I’d take you out of state for this challenge. On that note, welcome to Colorado! I know what you’re thinking– where the heck are the Rockies? Sorry, folks. A good majority of the state is wide open farm country. Sunflower fields, even! Totally romantic. Anyway, the last picture is from a town called Holyoke. I fell in love with it. Looks like it’s caught in a time warp, flashback to the Fifties.

Sunday Stills Challenge– Clouds

Clouds! I am beyond excited about this challenge. You see, I’m one of those photographer who spends a better portion of her time with the viewfinder– and her head– in the clouds. I have a million and one pictures of the sky in my archives. Not even kidding. Nothing gets me reaching for my camera faster than a beautiful sky. It’s really grown into somewhat of an obsession. Now I get to air it! Oh happy day!

The shot above is one of my favorites, thanks to its eccentricity. I took it out the back glass of a moving vehicle! What you’re looking at is the Arkansas side of the Mississippi River Bridge, just as you’re coming into Memphis. Love it!

Sunday Stills Challenge– Fences

I positively loved this fence. I wanted to take it home and put it in my backyard. The strange part is that it was actually located right across from a big, ugly car wash in the middle of town. Weird, huh?

Also, I live behind a partial stone fence that matches the rock our house is built out of. Each stone is different, which gives it a much better feel than it would have had it been built from landscaping stones. These rocks were actually collected off the place itself, and the fence– or ‘wall’ as we call it– dates back to the 1920s. It ends up in a lot of pictures I take, especially when I shoot from off my front porch. Which I do quite frequently, in case you were wondering.

My dog Lassee, expressing her apathy for my photography fetish. I just had to add this one, since it’s quite possibly the cutest picture I’ve ever taken through a fence.

Kind of a weird category this time. Creative, yes– but weird. Thanks again to Aussie Oklahoma for telling me to get on the stick and actually post this week! Anyway, I had to do some digging to find these shots. They were taken back in the dead of winter, on a Sunday, at the public school I used to attend.

Sunday Stills- eyes

This week’s Sunday Still Challenge provides us with a “look” at a very interesting subject matter– eyes. Are they really the windows to the soul? I think so. Little-known fact: this blog’s name is actually based on eyes– or rather, their color. In honor of the Tweedy Blues, what else could a do but post a picture of them? My own, in fact. I had to add the photo of Traveler for good measure. His hair is silkier than mine and he doesn’t even use salon conditioner… *jealous*
